VSAT LICENCE OVERVIEW
A Basic Telecommunications License authorizes the user to provide a telecommunications service (except voice telephony) in Ireland (i.e. data only).

A General Telecommunications License authorizes the license to provide voice telephony services .

TYPE OF LICENCE REQUIRED

Basic or General telecommunications licence

FEES

Basic Telecommunications Licence, 5 year duration   EUR 2,500

General Telecommunications Licence, 15 year duration  EUR 12,500()

VSAT terminal application fee  EUR 100, with an Additional annual fee per earth station  EUR 100

For satellite terminals outside the band 12.5 - 12.75 GHZ and 14.0 - 14.25 GHz applications fee 400

For 2 MHz spectrum usage  EUR 1000 / EUR 1250 (EIRP <50 . dBW / >50 dBW).

NOTE

The Office of the Director of Telecommunications Regulation (ODTR) is responsible for all matters of civil radio licensing, approval and spectrum management.
