VSAT LICENCE OVERVIEW

No license is required to provide a satellite service in Sweden; the service provider must simply notify the Post-och Telestyrelsen (PTS) of the service(s) that will be offered (PTS is responsible for the licensing and regulation of all civil postal and telecommunications services in Sweden, and for the management of civil radio spectrum).

TYPE OF LICENCE REQUIRED

Service licence: No license required. Service must be notified to PTS.
Frequency licence: A frequency license may be required, depending on the power and frequency band of operation


FEES

Notification:
EUR 105 (turn-over < EUR 314,000)
EUR 2,600 (turn-over > EUR 314,000)

NOTE

Sweden has adopted the ERC Decision (00)05 for fixed-satellite terminals, thus exempting most VSATs below 50 dBW eirp from requiring a licence
