VSAT LICENCE OVERVIEW
Authorisations for private VSAT networks are subject to a licence issued by the Communications Commission of Kenya.

Securing a licence often requires lengthy negotiations (4 months) with the Commission.

Note that applications must be made in a format approved by the Commission, together with the required information and documentation.

Application fee EUR 13.00 (1,000 KSh) (per earth station)

Inspection fee EUR 23.00 (25,000 KSh)

Licence EUR1293.00 (100,000 KSh) (Annual renewal fee per earth station)

Frequency usage fees EUR 129.00 - 387.00 (10,000 - 30,000 KSh)

Type approval EUR 129.00 (10,000 KSh (per type))

NOTE
Voice transmission not permitted, except by special agreement with Telkom Kenya.

TIMEFRAME
Licences granted 6 months from date of application
