
Laura manages the information and communications (ICT) practice, including work for the software, hardware, Internet, and online content industries. She shapes national and international policies on cloud computing, intellectual property protection, cybercrime, standards and interoperability, government procurement, and international trade. Laura also brings deep experience in evaluating economic data and using them to support changes in public policy. She has co-authored a series of economic and public policy studies evaluating the impact of information technology on the economies of Latin America and South East Asia.
For over six years, Laura was president of Sallstrom Consulting until its purchase by Access Partnership in July 2011. Prior to consulting, Laura was Director of the Business Software Alliance (BSA) Asia Pacific, based in Singapore, and was also BSA’s global trade manager in Washington DC. Laura has served in the Office of US Trade Representative (USTR) and at the US Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration, where she assisted in the negotiation of the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS), including some of the first discussions of computer and telecommunications services trade.
